ChurchianityChurchianity Churchianity;
what a word. So many people today are to a point in there lives that they just hate church. They love Jesus but get so discouraged
by man’s quest to be in charge. Unfortunately most lack a personal relationship to God. They know just enough to get
themselves into trouble, yet lack enough faith to share with others. It’s like playing
church.
There are two types of churches: the first being the non-profit organization that meets in the building with the steeple on
top. They make up rules, have membership requirements, and govern themselves any way they see fit. These churches are stuck
in tradition and not in Biblical truth. The second church is the Lord’s invisible,
universal, spiritual church (Ecclesia). A true church is in the world but not of the world. Paul, while ministering
to the New Testament churches, taught from God’s word, and used God’s word only
as the foundation of the church.
A true church must be built on the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible as the word
of God. The church must also recognize the birth, death, resurrection, and physical return of Jesus
Christ. There would also be a unity in Christ as described in Ephesians 4:1-16.
Churches fall into tradition. Members have been doing things a particular way for so long that it is believed to be Biblical.
Tradition often causes misunderstandings and prevents the application applying scripture.
Paul taught in Ephesians 4:11-13, That gifted members as well as leaders are responsible for equipping the saints. No one
person stands alone in the church. The church grows strong when every member of the body of Christ
is included, not just the leadership. Follow God’s leadership, His pattern, and
create a living church, not an institution
